The exhibition at Villa La Quiete focuses on three important Renaissance sculptures, never exhibited to the public. The careful restoration of the works, carried out on this occasion, is set in the wake of the recovery of the artistic heritage of the villa undertaken by the Florentine University, flanked, in this case, by the Terna group which contributed, with a liberal donation, to the restoration of one of the works on display: it is the beautiful Madonna and Child in stucco referring to the workshop of Lorenzo Ghiberti. This is flanked by a rare terracotta depicting a Madonna with Child, by a follower of Donatello, and a Christ the Savior, also in painted terracotta, made by the artist Agnolo di Polo, trained in the workshop of Andrea Verrocchio. |
