Sommario/riassunto

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to The 5th ACM Workshop on Wearable Systems and Applications -- WearSys 2019. The WearSys workshop is inspired by the fact that wearables are spearheading advancements in technology through inter-disciplinary research among a broad spectrum of disciplines such as mobile health, fashion, energy, just to name a few. The 5th ACM Workshop on wearable systems and applications, WearSys 2019, is focused on how wearable technologies can shape mobile computing, systems and applications research. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum to bring together researchers and design experts to discuss how wearable technologies have, and can, complement mobile systems research, and vice-versa. It also aims to provide a launchpad for bold and visionary ideas for wearable systems research. The call for papers attracted a number of high-quality submissions from all over the world. The program committee reviewed and accepted 10 full papers and 3 position papers. Besides these contributions, the WearSys 2019 program includes two fantastic keynotes from Prof. Steve Mann and Prof. Josiah Hester. Putting together WearSys 2019 was a team effort. We first thank the authors for providing the content of the program. We are grateful to the program committee who worked very hard in reviewing papers and providing feedback for authors. We thank the MobiSys 2019 workshop

chairs and general chairs in providing the necessary inputs in the form of feedback and arranging the infrastructure enabling to put together a wonderful program. We thank Nokia Bell Labs for sponsoring the Best Paper Award and finally, we are grateful to our primary sponsors ACM and SigMobile. We hope that this workshop will serve as a catalyst for advancements in mobile and wearable systems technology as well as provoke disruptive ideas for the research community to proceed in this space. We hope that you will find this program interesting and thought-provoking. Welcome to WearSys 2019!.
