In Speech-in-Character, Diatribe, and Romans 3:1-9 , Justin King argues that the rhetorical skill of speech-in-character ( prosopopoiia, sermocinatio, conformatio ) offers a methodologically sound foundation for understanding the script of Paul’s imaginary dialogue with an interlocutor in Romans 3:1-9. King focuses on speech-in-character’s stable criterion that attributed speech should be appropriate to the characterization of the speaker. Here, speech-in-character helps to inform which voice in the dialogue speaks which lines, and the general goals of diatribe help shape how an “appropriate” understanding of the script is best interpreted. King’s analyses of |

Temporary Work as an Active Labour Market Policy -- Consecutive Programme Participation -- Customer Management in Employment Agencies. |

Sommario/riassunto |
|
For selected target groups, such as unemployed and disadvantaged youth, Christoph Ehlert demonstrates that flexible and well-targeted programmes significantly improve employment chances. To be effective, these programmes must combine individual coaching, classroom training and temporary work. Apart from the programmes, |

the organisational framework in which the programmes are allocated also influences the outcome. The author shows that the introduction of customer service centres, that streamlined the customers through the counselling and placement process, helped little in bringing unemployed back to work, while the introduction of action programmes even worsened the situation for the unemployed and job-seekers. Whereas the introduction of new placement software in German employment agencies led to an increase in regular employment and to more sustainable placements that exhibit longer tenures. Contents Temporary Work as an Active Labour Market Policy Consecutive Programme Participation Customer Management in Employment Agencies Target Groups Teachers and Students of Economics with the Focus on Labour Markets Executives and Consultants in the Field of Active Labour Market Policy The Author Dr. Christoph Ehlert is a labour and development economist. He is in charge of the evaluation of programmes under the European Social Fund at the Ministry of Labour, Integration and Social Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia and also works as a consultant in this field. |

Sommario/riassunto |
|
Directed at the growing number of untutored personnel aspiring to enter the disciplines of ophthalmic technicianry and surgical assisting, The Scrub's Bible represents an entry level guide to understanding the human eye, its basic anatomy, and physiology. Absorbing this information serves as the foundation for the authors, who are all skilled and respected eye surgeons, educators, and surgery center owners, to draw the reader through the fundamentals of the two most common areas of ophthalmic surgery: cataract and corneal/refractive surgery. The Scrub's Bible is a comprehensive yet easy-to-read tool that is broken down into discreet and understandable elements, meant to avoid the intimidating rhetoric of a standard reference. . |
