Si les prouesses des artes memoriae sont celles d’une mémoire artificielle, c’est la memoria, au sens limité d’évocation de faits singuliers ou d’événements, dans la mesure où elle importe à la constitution de la subjectivité, qui a été au centre des travaux de cette journée d’étude. que social. L’écriture accomplit un geste mémorial, lorsque son auteur déclare qu’il favorise ou suscite la mémoire des autres passés ou présents, renommés, fameux, dont il transmet l’histoire, les histoires. En même temps et surtout, l’auteur élabore au présent sa fama tout au long de son œuvre. Entre le livre mémorial et la manière d’agir il y a une constante tension. L’entrelacement de fama, memoria et historia a des implications d’ordre politique, idéologique, subjectif. Les articles réunis ici visent à examiner, sans prétendre à l’exhaustivité, comment des individus, dans les circonstances les plus différentes, sont amenés à construire leur mémoire et leur identité en racontant l’histoire des autres, qu’il s’agisse de pays, de groupes sociaux, d’hommes et de femmes, en faisant œuvre de création historique, littéraire ou artistique. Renommés en leur temps, ces individus ont parfois été oubliés. Car il y a une vulnérabilité fondamentale de la mémoire, entre l’absence de la chose souvenue et sa présence sur le mode de la représentation. |
