« Impressionnisme, que nous veux-tu ? » : invention critique, impropriété, malentendu, tout se passe comme si le terme fut au fond une erreur féconde, symptôme - ou traduction - d'une crise elle aussi féconde, celle de la représentation. Dès lors, il obligea tous les arts, et avec eux la littérature, à se positionner par rapport à lui, tant esthétiquement qu'idéologiquement. Une telle dynamique s'opère alors que peinture et littérature s'autonomisent pour mieux se rapprocher par métaphore. Ce repositionnement s'accomplit dans un contexte de redéfinition du sujet, au sens double du mot, et s'inscrit de manière privilégiée dans le territoire normand, à comprendre comme construction culturelle. |
