Nach einer langen Phase weitgehender Vollbeschäftigung setzte Mitte der 1970er Jahre in der Bundesrepublik wie in vielen anderen westlichen Staaten eine unerwartete Massenarbeitslosigkeit ein. Besonderes Aufsehen in Politik und Öffentlichkeit erregte die damit verbundene Jugendarbeitslosigkeit. Die ungewohnten Krisenerscheinungen des Arbeitsmarktes für Jugendliche, die im internationalen Vergleich freilich auf relativ moderatem Niveau blieben, wurden nach und nach zu einem Dauerzustand. Thomas Raithel untersucht erstmals aus zeithistorischer Perspektive die Entwicklung der bundesdeutschen Jugendarbeitslosigkeit während der 1970er und 1980er Jahre und analysiert ihre Wahrnehmung und Bekämpfung. |

Explore the multiple ways adults learn through their bodies. Embodied or somatic learning is a way of learning that relies on the body's knowledge. Our most basic form of learning in childhood is preverbal; however, traditional schooling forces us to check our bodies at the door, requiring us to sit at a desk and raise our hands, focusing primarily on cognition to the exclusion of other ways of knowing.
