La réflexion sur le sport cultive le paradoxe et s'enferme dans une voie sans issue : elle ne cesse de plaider en faveur des "valeurs" du sport, et dans un même mouvement, au nom du "réalisme", elle renie ce qu'elle vient de défendre... L'Université d'Été 1999 a pris pour sujet cette impasse et s'est penchée sur quelques-unes des zones de tensions que sous-tendent des conflits, menaçant à court terme de conduire à des explosions. rester crédible le discours sur les valeurs du sport ? Faut-il alors - et c'est la deuxième ligne de tensions - se prendre à rêver d'un sport "bio", garanti "sans engrais chimique". Faut-il imaginer comme inévitable une fracture du sport avec d'un côté les jeux du cirque et de l'autre un sport santé, pratiqué par le plus grand nombre ? Une troisième zone de tensions est celle qui voit se développer les OPA sur le sport. Ces offres publiques d'achat, de glissements en dérapages, finissent par conduire à des dérives potentiellement explosives, introduisant une barrière entre un sport de "riches" et un sport de "pauvres". Du même coup se pose - et c'est la dernière zone de tensions qui est étudiée -, la question de la formation. Quelle définition donner à cette formation quand l'avenir du sport apparaît aussi incertain ? |

This book offers a comprehensive and unitary study of the philosophy of Francis Bacon, with special emphasis on the medical, ethical and political aspects of his thought. It presents an original interpretation focused on the material conditions of nature and human life. In particular, coverage in the book is organized around the unifying theme of Bacon’s notion of appetite, which is considered in its natural, ethical, medical and political meanings. The book redefines the notions of experience and experiment in Bacon’s philosophy of nature, shows the important presence of Stoic themes in his work as well as provides an original discussion of the relationships between natural magic, prudence and political realism in his philosophy. Bringing together scholarly expertise from the history of philosophy, the history of science and the history of literature, this book presents readers with a rich and diverse contextualization of Bacon’s philosophy. |
