|
Au sortir de la guerre civile catalane de 1462-1472, Barcelone, principale cité de Catalogne et grand port méditerranéen, entre dans une phase de reconstruction. Le roi Ferdinand le Catholique transforme les modalités d'entrée au gouvernement municipal, formalise l'accès à la noblesse et implante dans la ville une nouvelle Inquisition sous contrôle royal. Affecté également, le haut clergé cherche sa place, et les chanoines de la cathédrale en particulier tâchent d'assurer leur implantation au sein des pouvoirs urbains en recomposition. Au croisement de l'histoire canoniale et de l'histoire urbaine, cette étude montre comment, au-delà de leurs attributions religieuses, évêques et chanoines, pleinement intégrés à l'élite dirigeante de la ville, sont amenés à jouer un véritable rôle dans la vie publique d'une cité en pleine mutation. Esta obra de historia urbana tiene como objetivo arrojar luz sobre el papel desempeñado por el clero en las transformaciones sociopolíticas y económicas de la Barcelona bajomedieval tras la derrota catalana en la Guerra Civil de 1462-1472, un período en el que los distintos poderes urbanos trataban de recuperar posiciones. Su segundo objetivo es abordar la historia de los cabildos catedralicios en la Corona de Aragón. Finalmente, analiza la inserción de la Iglesia en las esferas formales e informales del poder municipal en el punto de inflexión entre la Edad Media y los tiempos modernos. |

Artificial neural networks may probably be the single most successful technology in the last two decades which has been widely used in a large variety of applications in various areas. The purpose of this book is to provide recent advances of artificial neural networks in biomedical applications. The book begins with fundamentals of artificial neural networks, which cover an introduction, design, and optimization. Advanced architectures for biomedical applications, which offer improved performance and desirable properties, follow. Parts continue with biological applications such as gene, plant biology, and stem cell, medical applications such as skin diseases, sclerosis, anesthesia, and physiotherapy, and clinical and other applications such as clinical outcome, telecare, and pre-med student failure prediction. Thus, this book will be a fundamental source of recent advances and applications of artificial neural networks in biomedical areas. The target audience includes professors and students in engineering and medical schools, researchers and engineers in biomedical industries, medical doctors, and healthcare professionals. |

This Brief provides a general description of the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). It describes the RASFF approach on the legal level and with reference to notification procedures, including also new tools, which were launched in 2014: iRASFF and the RASFF Consumer Portal. In an introduction, the present status of the RASFF, which had originally been introduced in 1979, is briefly reviewed. It is described as the main basis of modern food policy in Europe, enabling member countries to take rapid corrective actions on the one hand, and to perform statistically reliable analyses of food-related hazards on the other hand. contaminants, including also allergens. In another chapter, reasons for rejections of food and feed at the European borders are analyzed in selected case studies. The last chapter offers an outlook on the future of the RASFF and possible expectations. |
