Sommario/riassunto

"A Great Basin Mosaic looks beyond the popular Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas regions of Nevada and reflects on the cultures of smaller towns. Oftentimes these other 'Nevadas' become short-changed by academic historians at the state level, resulting in a disconnect between the cultures that actually exist within these Nevada communities and the public's perception of them. This text remedies such neglect by adding to the research and writings about each Nevada county and town, offering concentrations on seemingly mundane politics and economic factors as well as providing some cultural and social analysis"--Provided by publisher.
