Gefährliche Liebschaften (Les Liaisons dangereuses), ein Briefroman von Pierre-Ambroise-François Choderlos de Laclos, gilt als ein Hauptwerk der französischen Literatur des 18. Jahrhunderts (1782) und Sittengemälde des ausgehenden Ancien régime.?Zur Inhalt: Die intrigante Marquise Isabelle Merteuil schlägt dem Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont vor, die jugendliche Braut ihres früheren Geliebten Gercourt, Cécile de Volanges, noch vor der Hochzeitsnacht zu verführen. Valmont hat wenig Interesse an einer so ,,leichten Beute". Ihn reizt die spröde, als äußerst tugendhaft bekannte verheiratete Marie de Tourvel, die er so beharrlich, geschickt und vor allem eloquent umwirbt, dass sie sich schließlich tatsächlich in ihn verliebt. Gleichzeitig erfüllt Valmont aber auch Mme. Merteuils Wunsch nach Rache an dem ehemaligen Geliebten, indem er dessen Braut Cécile nicht nur entjungfert, sondern sogar schwängert. Denn Mme. Merteuil hat ihm als Belohnung dafür eine Liebesnacht versprochen. |
