Mit dem Verkauf von 20.000 Objekten aus dem Besitz des Hauses Hannover wurde im Jahr 2005 der Wendepunkt einer jahrhundertelangen Sammlungsgeschichte offensichtlich. Kunst- und Ausstattungsgegenstände waren als Mittel sozialen Verhaltens, Erinnerungsträger und Dinge des Wohnens lange identitätsbildend für den Adel und sind somit für das historische Gedächtnis von erheblicher Bedeutung.Ulrike Sbresny untersucht historische Adelssammlungen und deckt dabei die Grenzen des Kulturgüterschutzes besonders bei großen, heterogenen Beständen auf: Adelssammlungen waren entgegen heutigen Bewahrungskonzepten von Dynamik statt Statik, von Bindungen statt Isolierung und von Vielfalt statt Auswahl geprägt. |
