Wenn Schülerinnen und Schüler im Unterricht nicht die erwarteten Leistungen zeigen, kann dieses viele Ursachen haben. Dass es ihnen möglicherweise an der nötigen Sprachkompetenz mangelt, wird häufig nicht berücksichtigt. Das Verständnis der im Unterricht verwendeten Bildungssprache ist eine Grundvoraussetzung für erfolgreiches fachorientiertes Lernen. Sprachsensibler Fachunterricht soll neue Lernmöglichkeiten eröffnen und die Sprachentwicklung fördern. Dabei dient das Schreiben als Zugangsmittel und erlaubt den Schülerinnen und Schülern, Sprache als Instrument wahrzunehmen. Es ist das Kernstück erfolgreichen Lernens und Unterrichts, da es Lernerinnen und Lernern erlaubt, sich über Sachverhalte klar zu werden, als Vorbereitung von Mündlichkeit dient und Lehrkräften einen Nachweis von Lernerfolg bietet. Eine theoretische Einführung, in der zunächst das Konzept der kognitiv-sprachlichen Grundfunktionen vorgestellt wird, dient als Basis für von Lehrkräften erarbeitete Praxisbeispiele zum Einsatz in den Fächern Biologie, Geschichte und Mathematik. Die Qualitäts- und UnterstützungsAgentur – Landesinstitut für Schule NRW (QUA-LiS NRW) bietet mit den „Beiträgen zur Schulentwicklung“ ein Angebot zur Unterstützung für die Schul- und Unterrichtspraxis. Zum einen werden wissenschaftsnahe Bände veröffentlicht, die für interessierte Leserinnen und Leser aus dem Bildungsbereich den aktuellen Fachdiskurs zu verschiedenen schulrelevanten Themen aufgreifen. Die mit dem Label „PRAXIS“ versehenen praxisnahen Bände enthalten zum anderen konkrete Handreichungen und Materialien für Schule und Unterricht. |
