Biographical note: Prof. Dr. med. Hans Wedler, FA für Innere Medizin und für Psychotherapeutische Medizin, war bis 2011 in eigener Psychotherapeutischer Privatpraxis niedergelassen. Davor viele Jahre klinische Berufserfahrung, zuletzt Ärztlicher Direktor der Klinik für Internistische Psychosomatik im Klinikum Stuttgart. Als ehem. Vorstandsmitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Suizidprävention (DGS) und ehem. Vorstandsmitglied der International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) ist der Autor Experte zum Thema des geplanten Bandes. Wedler ist im Nationalen Suizidpräventionsprogramm für Deutschland tätig und Herausgeber der Zeitschrift Suizidprophylaxe (Roderer-Verlag Regensburg). |
Long description: Menschliche Selbsttötungen gab es und gibt es zu allen Zeiten und in allen Gesellschaften. Ist der Suizid ein gangbarer Weg zur Lebensbeendigung? Was empfindet ein Mensch in der suizidalen Krise? Welche Auswirkungen hat Suizidalität auf andere? Ist die Suizidprävention eine mitmenschliche soziale Pflicht und bis zu welchen Grenzen? Ziel dieses Buches ist es, Stellung und Funktion des Suizids im gegenwärtigen gesellschaftlichen Leben verständlich zu machen, von Irrationalitäten zu befreien und als ethische Herausforderung an die ganze Menschheit zu begreifen. Es richtet sich an alle am Thema Suizid interessierten Menschen, insbesondere an Psychiater, Klinische Psychologen, Psychotherapeuten, Sozialarbeiter sowie an Studierende der Medizin und Psychologie. |
