• Sommario/riassunto: Dans la pratique philologique, la critique, qui établit l’authenticité du texte et l’herméneutique, qui en dégage le sens, sont deux opérations solidaires. Ce modèle s’est vu élevé à la réflexion, dès la fin du xviiie siècle en Allemagne, par les auteurs de la génération romantique, Friedrich Schlegel, Schleiermacher et Ast. Le projet de réunir "philologie et philosophie" résume leur tentative, originale par rapport aux philosophies postkantiennes. Car ces auteurs cherchent à penser l’antinomie entre la critique et l’herméneutique, la mise à distance dans le jugement et l’expérience d’une appartenance première. Suivant des ; perspectives distinctes, ils ont conçu une théorie philosophique de l’interprétation, depuis le cadre d’une encyclopédie philologique. Mais cette théorie ne s’est pas préparée à l’écart de tout exercice. Depuis la pratique philologique jusqu’à l’invention d’un nouvel art de la critique littéraire propre au premier romantisme d’Iéna, il s’agit toujours de l’autoréflexion d’une pratique interprétative, de l’effort fourni pour en énoncer les fondements et la portée. Le choix des textes retenus vise à mettre en évidence cette double perspective, en reconstituant ainsi l’arc allant du jugement critique singulier (sur la Lucinde ou le Philoctète) à la recomposition du sens de grands ensembles textuels (Boccace ou Lessing) et menant à la proposition d’une théorie cohérente. Entre le jugement critique et la relation herméneutique partant de la reconnaissance de l’historicité du sens, c’est le projet d’une encyclopédie des sciences de l’esprit qui cherche ici ses fondements théoriques.

• Sommario/riassunto: Le colloque international sur la violence dans les mondes de l’Antiquité dite classique réuni des historiens soucieux d’explorer des domaines différents mais complémentaires. Leur préoccupation a été d’abord de comprendre quelle était la représentation de la violence dans les sociétés grecque et romaine grâce à une analyse des discours produits, qu’ils aient été textes ou images. À partir de ces prémisses, ils montrent quelles normes ont structuré le système social, ils élargissent et enrichissent la place accordée à la violence intra-familiale, tout en s’inscrivant résolument dans les actuelles interrogations sur le genre. En abordant le domaine de la justice, qu’elle ait été vengeance ou recherche d’autres formes d’équilibre, les auteurs analysent la mise en relation entre la violence et le politique. Ils n’ont pas négligé bien sûr la guerre, où la violence est à la fois externe aux groupes affrontés et interne au monde des soldats, par l’effet de la brutalisation inhérente à leur pratique. Enfin la violence, qui n’est pas non plus absente des relations diplomatiques, renvoie à un des problèmes initialement posés, celui de sa mise en scène et de son institutionnalisation.

• Sommario/riassunto: This book provides a fresh approach to understanding the origins and possible future direction of the Northeast Asia “history wars.” Leading scholars in history, literary studies, and education present the complex issue in a historical context by assessing its political and cultural dimensions, particularly with regards to relations between Japan and Korea. Their essays also touch on the significance of civil society efforts to advance peaceful reconciliation and the social and political forces that have worked to frustrate such efforts since 1945. At its core, this volume explores the political significance in the gap between Korean and Japanese civil society versus governmental efforts to resolve issues lingering from the Pacific War in Asia; the significance of cultural as well as political efforts to understanding historical and contemporary relations among Northeast Asian neighboring states; and specific factors—such as textbook reform, revised school curricula, and civil society education efforts— that are working to ameliorate the heretofore deadlocked “history wars.”.
