Electronic imaging and sensing systems are used for medical diagnosis. In recent years, for example, dental offices have been switching to digital X-ray imaging systems. Another growing application area is the use of digital infrared imaging systems for home inspections which can spot invisible water damage. Of course, electronic imaging and sensing systems are ubiquitous in cellphone, tablet and digital cameras. This book explains the physical principles of optical electronic imaging and provides information relative to its design and operation. |
