Sommario/riassunto

Este libro presenta tres estudios sobre las formas en las que el discurso convencional sobre desarrollo condiciona, modela, e interviene en la vida de los seres humanos y su entorno. Muestra, además, cómo la lógica epistemológica que sostiene el discurso sobre el desarrollo permea y excede sus propios límites, alcanzando incluso aquellas propuestas teóricas y prácticas que pretenden tomar distancia de este discurso y que se enuncian a sí mismas como resistentes. En los tres estudios que componen este libro, se presentan diferentes conceptualizaciones y formas en las que el discurso convencional sobre desarrollo afecta la calidad de vida de las personas que son objeto de políticas públicas, intervenciones gubernamentales e institucionales. La propuesta, finalmente, es poner en evidencia la relación saber/poder que sostiene el discurso del desarrollo y cómo éste tiene efectos materiales y simbólicos que producen y reproducen condiciones desiguales de existencia.
