|
Die Untersuchung präsentiert Aspekte der Lebenwelt von Studentinnen türkischer Herkunft in Deutschland. Anhand von qualitativen Interviews stellt die Autorin die Bedingungen für gelingende Lebensentwürfe von Migrantinnen der dritten Generation dar. Entgegen des vorherrschenden Diskurses, der Migrantinnen als Opfer ihrer Herkunftskultur beschreibt, werden in den Biografien verschiedene Risiko- und Schutzfaktoren erkennbar. Die jungen Frauen setzen sich intensiv mit dem in unserer Gesellschaft präsenten Stereotyp der „typisch türkischen Frau“ auseinander und fordern ein differenziertes Bild ihrer individuellen Lebenssituation ein. Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit stehen Orientierungs- und Handlungsmuster im Kontext von sozialer Ein- und Ausgrenzung, wobei dem sozialen Umfeld und den individuellen Handlungsstrategien im Hinblick auf Fremd- und Selbstzuschreibungen besondere Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet wird. Das Buch macht deutlich, dass weder die Opferrolle noch der allgemein attestierte Kulturkonflikt für die Situation der jungen Frauen entscheidend ist. |
