|
The research question of this study is fourfold: what has been the development of the position of the Dutch government in support of the December 2004 Convention? how was Turkey's possible EU membership received by the Dutch public and media? to what extent were there legitimacy problems regarding the formal Dutch position on Turkey's ambition to join the EU? Would a different way of embedding the possible Turkish accession have led to a more recognized position of the Dutch government?
