Cette thèse de doctorat d'État soutenue en 1989 sous la direction de M. Jean Bouvier (†) et de M. René Girault renouvelle l'histoire politique et économique du XXe siècle. L'auteur étudie les mutations de l'État entre la crise des années trente et l'amorce de la forte croissance à la fin des années quarante sans oublier les années de guerre et d'occupation. Si l'étude porte avant tout sur les aspects économiques et financiers, les hommes et les "mentalités" ne sont pas pour autant négligés et retrouvent là une place de choix dans l'analyse des décisions politiques et stratégiques. This book, which was originally a PhD thesis defended in 1989 under the direction ofJean Bouvier and René Girault, offers a fresh view of mid-20th century political and economic history. The author examines how the French State changed through the crisis of the 1930s, the war, the German occupation and the beginnings of strong growth in the late 1940s. Its primary focus is the economic and financial aspects of this period, but society and its prevailing attitudes |
