Du point de vue de l'anthropologie, la santé est tout à la fois autre chose et bien plus que l'envers de la maladie. Elle est un rapport entre l'être physique et psychique, d'un côté, le monde social et politique, de l'autre; rapport qui n'est pas un donné physiologique ou sensible, mais l'expression d'une construction historique. L'objet de l'anthropologie de la santé réside donc dans les biologiques, c'est-à-dire les logiques sociales qui mettent les corps à l'épreuve du politique. Après avoir esquissé un tableau de l'anthropologie médicale dans sa diversité, mais aussi ses permanences, on se propose de caractériser l'anthropologie de la santé. Deux orientations sont explorées : la première relie les processus d'objectivation et de subjectivation à l'œuvre, dégageant plus particulièrement la centralité du concept de bio-légitimité; la seconde analyse les modalités de la globalisation de l'ordre sanitaire, en s'interrogeant sur sa signification, notamment autour de l'émergence d'une raison humanitaire. La conclusion propose une synthèse entre politiques du vivant et politiques de la vie. |

a physiological or sensitive order, but is the expression of a historical construction. The object of an anthropology of health lies consequently in the bio-logics, i.e. the social logics which confronts the body and politics. After drawing a picture of medical anthopology through ils diversity and continuities, a characterization of the anthropology of health is proposed. Two orientations are explored : first, the processes of objectivation and subjectivation at work, with a special focus on the centrality of the concept of bio-legitimacy ; secondly, the ways through which globalization of a sanitary order imposes new meanings, with a particular mention of the humanitarian rationality. In conclusion, a synthesis is proposed between politics of the living and politics of life. |
