|
L'émergence de dissolutions matrimoniales visibles dans les années 60 reçoit une explication à multiples volets. Si elle est liée aux contradictions structurelles de la famille des sociétés industrielles avancées, elle a pris au Québec l'aspect d'une transformation accélérée et soudaine. Des facteurs conjoncturaux rendent compte de la rapidité de cette évolution pendant les années 60. Quoique réelle, la soudaineté du phénomène est aussi un effet du « regard » : la perception idéologique/idyllique des institutions familiales et matrimoniales a empêché de voir les dissolutions latentes que l'analyse du matériel ethno-sociographique des années 60 nous a restituées. |
The emergence as a phenomenon of a marked decline of marriage during the 1960s has a variety of causes. It is of course linked to structural contradictions of the family in advanced industrial society, but, in Québec, it erupted as a suddent and quickening transformation. Contingent factors of general context, aside from the family itself, explain the rapidity of the evolution through the 1960s. Although the abruptness of the phenomenon is clear, it is in part a matter of « perspective » : the ideological/idyllic perception of family and marriage institutions camouflaged the latent decline of matrimony now |
