Concentrandosi su una delle morfologie del genere elogio nel Cinquecento, l'elogio paradossale in prosa e in volgare, il volume contribuisce alla messa a fuoco di quel settore "irregolare" della produzione letteraria del secolo che programmaticamente si oppone alla cultura classicistica, non solo riproponendo testi che, per lo più oggi dimenticati, conobbero un notevole successo editoriale (Ortensie Lando, Antonfrancesco Doni, Francesco Turchi, Cesare Rao), ma anche ampliando, con nuove esplorazioni, i sondaggi già compiuti dalla critica più recente nel terreno della prassi censoria e della tecnica del plagio. |
