The book brings together chapters that address questions about the new economic and social configuration in which the economic importance of knowledge stands out as the main source for the creation of wealth, replacing physical capital and / or natural resources, which are decisive for the organization of production until the 20th century. In addition to conceptual considerations, the chapters that make up the work discuss results of research carried out by teams of researchers in Grenoble (Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble 1 and Université Pierre Mendès France, Grenoble 2), France, and in Rio Grande do Sul (Federal University Rio Grande do Sul), Brazil, addressing topics that, in more general terms, refer to the debate on interaction between science, technology, innovation and local and regional development. Therefore, socio-cultural realities that are quite different in both economic and historical terms are examined. The objective was to know the strategies of each society, with unequal resources, in the face of significant economic changes. |
