Allein aufgrund politischer Affären mussten in den vergangenen Jahren einige Bundesminister zurücktreten, mehrere Parteifunktionäre ausscheiden und sogar ein Bundespräsident sein Amt niederlegen. Ein Skandal kann die Reputation eines Politikers zerstören und seine Parteikarriere abrupt beenden. In dieser Ausnahmesituation hängt die berufliche Zukunft des Angegriffenen vor allem mit der Frage zusammen, wie gut er die Affäre kommunikativ und medial bewältigt. Nur wenige stürzen schließlich über die ursprüngliche Verfehlung, die meisten scheitern am richtigen Umgang damit. Doch was macht erfolgreiches Skandalmanagement aus? Um die Frage zu beantworten, entwickelt der Autor ein modernes Konzept der Krisenkommunikation im politischen Medienskandal.
